Hello my loves! Welcome back ūüôā I just recently received my monthly Boxycharm ¬†for August and I thought I’d give you guys a peak! I am seriously in love with this subscription box. Every month I am consistently impressed by the FULL SIZE products I receive for only $21 a month. There are times where I do not like every single product, but I usually love at least 2 or 3 of them and would 100% pay $21 for those two products alone! So, I would say if you haven’t tried this subscription box yet, you totally should. Okay let’s just get into this months box!

First thing I grabbed was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume ll eyeshadow palette. I love getting Tarte products in these boxes and especially an entire eyeshadow palette. I love the colors in this one, very neutral and wearable. Most of these eyeshadows were not super pigmented but definitely perfect for everyday wear. The palette had zero fallout which is nice because I like to do my foundation first. I used the shades Pearl, Conch, Marina, Seaside and Breezy. I used Breezy all over the lid and it’s such a beautiful color! Gives you that sultry look without having to try too hard. This palette retails for $36.

So next thing I was drawn to in the box was the trio brush set. I love getting brushes in my box because I legit hate spending money on makeup brushes. I don’t know why, but it pains me to spend money on good brushes, but they really do make such a difference when applying your makeup. The Moda Pro 3 piece brush set came with a crease brush, a chisel brush and a pointed blush brush (say that fast three times) haha. To be honest, I’ll probably never use the chisel brush, but I love the crease eyeshadow brush for blending shadows and I used the pointed blush brush to powder my face but I would consider using it for blush too. These brushes were super soft and not scratchy at all. The handles are that soft touch material which makes them feel so luxurious and expensive. This brush trio retails for $26.

Next up, I saw these super wispy falsies! Now, I do not wear false lashes so I wasn’t super excited about this product, but I’ll keep them on deck in case I need them for a special event or something because they look so stunning! They are the P√úR Cosmetics Pro Lashes and they retail for $14.

Next up, this cute little lip/cheek product from Aloette. It is actually called a face paint, so I’m assuming that you could use this for any sort of make (eyeshadow, cheek stain, lip tint.) I personally don’t like using cream products on my face but this made for a beautiful lip color and was super easy to apply. It stained my lips for HOURS which is amazing. This product retails for $35! That’s expensive but I can see how this product would last you an extremely long time since you don’t need much to see the color pay off.

Next product was a black gel liner pencil from Bellapierre. This eyeliner also claims to be waterproof. I must have like 1,000 different black eyeliners in my collection at this point and I honestly rarely ever wear eyeliner but hey, I know a lot of other people do. After applying this product, it’s definitely not as black and pigmented as I’d like but it definitely stayed on my water line for a long time. Overall not my favorite and it retails for $15.

Did that seem like a million products to you? I felt like they were never going to end!! I really enjoy the Tarte eyeshadow palette, the Aloette face paint and the Moda makeup brushes. Definitely makes this box worth the $21 I paid for it. The total value of this months box was $126!!! That’s so crazy to me! Anyway, if I haven’t already said it a million times, this subscription box is soooooooo good and sooooo worth the monthly price of $21. Okay my loves that is all the information I have for your pretty faces today. Talk to you next time!

Hello loves! Today I am going to share with you two different makeup looks I created with the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe eyeshadow palette and also give you my honest review of it! This palette is sold out as of right now but is being restocked TOMORROW AUGUST 22nd at 8am PST. If you miss out tomorrow, Jaclyn usually announces the restock dates first on her Snapchat or Instagram, so keep an eye out! This palette costs $38 and has 35 unique shades. I know there are many youtubers and instagrammers that have a morphe discount code, so enter one of those before you cash out for 10% off.

Look 1: Mermaid vibes

Review:

I honestly love this palette. It has a very wide range of shades both neutral and colorful. It does not have many cool tone shades, but I rarely ever use cool tones anyway. I’m missing a light matte shade to set my eye lids with or to highlight the brow bone with, but that’s not a deal breaker. The shades are extremely pigmented and blend out so easily. They do have a bit of kick up/fallout but that’s to be expected with pigmented shadows so just be careful with your undereye area when using this palette. My only real con for this palette is how dirty is gets. Because Jaclyn decided to go with a white and silver palette, the shadows get all over and makes it look dingy. Although, as long as your not taking pictures of it, who really cares? The value of this palette is amazing for the quantity of shadows you get and the quality of each shadow.

So, I thought I would share with you guys my most used shadows in the palette and also my favorite shadows in the palette. Obviously my most used are neutral and wearable daily and my favorite shadows are ones that I would wear when getting all jazzed up to go out.

MOST USED SHADOWS:

From bottom to top (left to right): Beam, Silk creme, M.F.E.O, Sissy, Butter, Pukey, Buns

FAVORITE SHADOWS:

From bottom to top: Firework, Queen, Roxanne, Meeks, Pool party, Royalty, Twerk, Jada

That’s it!! That’s all I have ¬†I say about this beautiful palette. Hope you all loved this post, and don’t forget to keep up with me daily on Instagram @alexandra_avenue.

Welcome back my loves! It’s a new week, so I’ve got a new cocktail recipe for you guys. I decided to do a spicy Bloody Mary because, well why the heck not? Everyone knows that millennials love their brunch but sometimes I’d rather stay in bed and brunch with my hubby at home. So, for those weekends that we decide to stay in, this is the perfect Bloody Mary recipe to go with whatever you decided to cook up!

INGREDIENTS:

Absolute Peppar Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Tomato Juice Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Olive Juice (Jar of olives) Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Lime Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Horseradish Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Worcestershire

Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

Tabasco

Processed with VSCO with n1 preset

HOW TO MAKE:

Fill glass of choice with ice

Add 1 can of tomato juice over ice

Add 1.5oz of Absolute Peppar

Juice half of a lime into glass

Add a pinch (seriously barely any) horseradish into glass

Add a splash of olive juice

Add .25oz of  Worcestershire sauce

Add Tabasco to taste (I like mine EXTRA spicy)

Stir in glass with a stirrer or spoon

Garnish with celery sticks and a lime wheel

Ta Da!!! You’re done. Repeat as necessary haha

FYI: I rarely ever measure ingredients except for the liquor! I usually adjust the ingredients to taste depending on my mood. For example, my husband doesn’t like it as spicy so I only put two to three splashes of Tabasco and extra like juice in his. When it comes to me, I like the first one to be SUPER spicy, so I load up the Tabasco and horseradish and then usually go heavier on the Worcestershire¬†and olive juice for the second round.

What cocktails do you all want to see next? Leave me a comment below.

Hello my loves! I just spent 6 days in Cancun with my hubby for some good quality relaxation and fun and I thought I would share some photos from the experience with you guys.

Processed with VSCO with 4 preset

We found out the hard way that August is one of the hottest months in Cancun, as if this wasn’t obvious, we just didn’t consider it. Thank goodness that there was an amazing pool all throughout our hotel, because that’s where we spent the majority of our time considering the heat. We opted to stay at an all inclusive so all of the food and alcohol was already included in the cost. I am choosing to leave the hotel name anonymous because we were not treated very well and had many issues with the front desk. However, despite the poor treatment, we enjoyed laying out and relaxing before having to come back home to NYC!

To be honest, we didn’t do anything while we were there, but that was always the plan. We chose not to do any excursions or leave the hotel often because we just wanted to chill. Sometimes you just need a vacation of laying around and drinking all day, am I right?

I do have to give a shout out to this great little restaurant that we found near our hotel, the Blue Gecko. After eating a few days of inedible food at our all inclusive, we decided to get on yelp and find somewhere to eat real food. This bar had nothing but stellar reviews, so we decided to give it a try. After going there the 3rd night we realized why, the place was freaking amazing! We ended up eating there two days in a row and bringing leftovers and extras back to the room for later. That turned out to be the best decision we made the whole trip haha!! Food really is so important to my husband and I, so lesson learned with the all inclusive.

Anyway, enough about food. Cancun was truly a beautiful destination with sunny weather and palm trees for miles. It most definitely was not my favorite tropical destination but I truly enjoyed myself, relaxing in the sun with my love. Now, where to next?

You all know I can’t end this post without some swimsuit and fashion action! So here were some of my favorite looks and where I purchased them.

Processed with VSCO with 4 preset

Mermaid one piece is from Missguided. I purchased it on www.asos.com

This baby pink bikini is from www.zaful.com I purchased it in a medium (even though I usually wear a small) because the reviews said it ran super small. It fit perfectly and was so flattering. My favorite swimsuit that I wore this trip by far!

Bad news!! This swimsuit top is no longer sold. It was from Victoria’s Secret and they stopped selling swimwear. Seriously breaks my heart because they always made the cutest bikinis. I found a similar one at Bloomingdale’s by Trina Turk. My bottoms are the same ones from the baby pink bikini from Zaful.

I wore this look on the first night and was so obsessed. My top is from Asos, skirt is from Forever 21.¬†I also wanted to do a monochrome coral look for my makeup to go with all the neutral. Eyes are colourpop cosmetics¬†‘Blow Me Away’ eyeshadow palette. Lips are NYX¬†Suede Matte lip liner in shade ‘Life’s a beach” with Maybelline¬†lipstick in shade ‘Coral Crush’. And of course Milani¬†‘Luminoso’ blush.

I LOVED this makeup look!! I felt so fancy and powerful¬†(the power of a red lip.) Something about a golden eye and red lips just looks stunning on so many people. I used Blinc Cosmetics¬†‘Electric Eyes’ palette and IBY Beauty ‘Three’s a company’ eyeshadow trio on the eyes. I used Physicians Formula¬†butter bronzer to contour and bronze my face. My highlight is Becca Cosmetics ‘Opal’ and my lips are Colourpop Cosmetics lippie stick in ‘Bossy’.

Last thing I wanted to mention was that I always pick a new fragrance for each vacation. I totally stole this idea from Kathleen Lights on YouTube. She mentioned that the scents took her back to the memories of that vacation, and I’ve always associated smells with memories so I started doing this a few years ago. I chose Nest Fragrances ‘Black Tulip’ for this trip. It smells so warm and floral that it was perfect for this sun drenched vacation.

Where are you guys vacationing this month? Leave your destinations below, and also leave me perfume recomendations for my next vacation!

Hello loves, it’s me again! I’m back, but this time with something super delicious. For those of you who do not know me, I am actually a bartender in NYC. So, naturally I’m going to make sure that you guys get some yummy cocktails out of this deal, right? DUH!¬†For my first cocktail on my blog, I couldn’t think of a more perfect choice than my favorite drink; a spicy margarita!

Processed with VSCO with 4 preset

There are so many different variations of the spicy margarita and I’ve loved every one that I’ve tried so far. When it comes to making a drink at home,¬†let’s be honest,¬†the easier the better. So I put together the most simple, yet freaking yummy, spicy marg for you guys! Also, because of how simple it is, it keeps the calories very low.¬†What more could you ask for?

WHAT YOU NEED: (ingredients)

Silver/Blanco Tequila (pick a favorite) I used Deleon but I also like Herradura and Patron

Organic agave nectar

Limes

Fresh jalape√Īos

Cocktail shaker

Muddler

Fruit juicer (handheld)

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Slice jalape√Īos into 1/4 inch slices and remove the seeds.

Processed with VSCO with 4 preset

Step two: Add 3 slices of jalape√Īo and 3/4oz of agave syrup into your cocktail shaker.

Step three: Muddle the jalape√Īos and agave together with a wooden muddler if you have one. Full disclosure,¬†I couldn’t find my muddler so I used the clean backend of a screw driver to muddle it!! I’m not even joking people, use what you’ve got¬†(I told you this was easy.)

Step 4: Fill the shaker up with ice and add 1.5oz of tequila.

Step 5: Cut 2 limes in half and hand juice them into the cocktail shaker. If you don’t have a hand juicer just literally squeeze the juice out with your hand. It should create about 2oz of juice if you feel the desire to measure it.

Step 6: Shake it!!!!! The more you shake it, the better it tastes. Okay, not really, but make sure you shake it enough to get it super chilled.

Step 7: Pour ALL of the contents from the shaker into a glass of your choice. Then top with more ice if you need it.

NOW DRINK YOUR MASTERPIECE!!!

Obviously, you can make more than one at a time in the shaker (just double the ingredients.)¬†Also, you can adjust¬†the ingredients to your particular taste. For example, I don’t like mine as sweet as my husband does so I add a little less agave syrup to mine. I hope you all enjoy this spicy margarita as much as I do.

CHEERS!!
